Simi Valley Public Library and Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District (RSRPD) are happy to offer the Passport to Summer Fun for all ages, from June 11th to August 18th. The Passport to Summer Fun provides a list of events available in Simi Valley this summer. By attending programs, events, and visiting locations listed in the passport, you will earn points. The more points you earn, the more chances you have to win one of the many drawing prizes provided by our summer sponsors!
You will also find a reading log in the center pages of the passport. This year’s summer reading theme is ‘Reading Takes You Everywhere’ – a great idea to keep in mind whether you plan to travel or stay right here in Simi Valley. To use your Passport to Summer Fun!, keep track of your reading this summer with the log found in the center of the passport. Simply write in the titles and then circle the type of material underneath each title. Each box has space for you to write in titles of five items. For every five items read, receive a prize at the Library, for a total of 4 prizes. Library prizes are available June 11 – July 27. Passport prizes will be awarded by September 21st. Be sure to enjoy many of the other passport listings to be entered into drawings!
Sign up online through the Library's website beginning June 1st. Library staff and S@YL volunteers can also help you and your family sign up starting on June 11th.
The Simi Valley Public Library and Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District Passport Program has two parts:
- June 11-July 27: Summer @ Your Library's (S@YL) Reading Takes you Everywhere. Keep track of your reading on the reading log located in the center of the passport. Pick up your reading prizes at the Library between June 11 and July 27.
- June 11-August 18: Library events, RSRPD events, and other community events and locations located in the passport.
Each point earned gives you more opportunities to win passport drawing prizes! You can earn points by attending events and visiting locations listed in your passport from June 11 – August 18. Turn in your passport by August 24 and you will automatically be entered into drawing for prizes based on the number of points (passport stickers) you’ve gathered through the summer. Winners will be notified by September 21.
- Important dates to remember: Library reading program runs June 11 – July 27. Passport program runs June 11 – August 18. Passports must be turned in by August 24. Winners of prizes will be notified by September 21.
