African American History Month

In the face of adversity, regular people banded together to face it and rise above. African American history month is our opportunity to look back at the major moments in our country that shaped the African-American experience in the United States, and to recognize those African-Americans that despite violence, segregation, and adversity would not stand for anything short of equality and unity.

While far from exhaustive, below is timeline of major events in the history of African Americans as told by books and media about each event.
