Resources for Learning a Language or Becoming a Citizen

Where to look in the Library

Head for the nonfiction section, which is organized according to subject matter by the Dewey Decimal System – some Dewey numbers to look for:

400’s for dictionaries, grammar, etc.

800’s for literature – most of these items are in English, but some may have both the original language and the English translation

The Library also maintains collections of materials in two languages other than English, Spanish and Marathi, as well as a selection of books on learning English as a Second Language (ESL) and preparing for the U.S. Citizenship Exam.
