Simi Valley Mobile Library

We’re going out into the community! Simi Valley Public Library now has a mobile library to take books, programs, and other library services out into your neighborhood. The Mobile Library will be able to create library cards for those that don’t have them already and serves to help bring the library to those who may not normally be able to visit the library itself.

The mobile library’s purpose isn’t simply to bring library cards out into the community; it comes equipped with it’s own dedicated collection for all ages. Some of these materials are already out in the community, whether it be a dedicated shelf of children’s books at the Simi Valley Free Clinic or a regular drop-off to Varenita of Simi Valley. Even beyond library materials we will bring activities, crafts to some stops to try to complete the library experience.

Where will we visit?

While we won’t be making stops directly to people’s homes, we would like to visit a number of schools in the community as well as community centers to reach everyone in the community. We’ll also be present at major events in the community, such as the Simi Valley Street Fairs!

How do I suggest a stop for the Mobile Library?

Below is a form expressing your interest for the mobile to visit a particular place in Simi Valley! As stated, we’re not able to deliver materials or visit individual homes, though we may visit community centers or parks in order to bring library services to a particular neighborhood. Please fill out the form below to the best of your abilities; if you have any question please reach out to our Mobile Library Coordinator.
